THE WESTERN BATTLEFONT

OF THE WAR ON UKRAINE

All Is Quiet on the Western Front would be an overstatement in the Russian attacks on Ukraine. But in relation to other regions of Ukraine there have been very little action in the western regions of the country. Unlike the Northern Eastern, and Southern borders of Ukraine, Russia has no friends along the western Ukrainian borders . Thus they haven't had a base from which to launch ground or air attacks.

Nevertheless, they have conducted a limited number of airstrikes on certain cities in the west, including Uman, Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankisvk, and Lutsk in the northwest.

The city of Lviv continues to be one of the primary destinations for Ukrainians fleeing the war.
